ABOUT ME
I have worked mostly in data entry, office administration, and account processing throughout my career. Apart from white-collar work, I also had a casual job driving handicapped children to and from school for a time.
I spent many years finding only temporary jobs, and I was often unemployed for long periods between them. Despite being permanently employed in fulltime work for years, I still have raw memories of my past struggles to find work.
My hobbies include performing in community-based musical theatre, and playing in a community-based concert band. I also enjoy reading and writing, and I regularly write blog pieces on election issues and transport issues.
I was a volunteer at the water polo at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. I also saw lots of events there as a spectator - and I was bitten by the bug! After Sydney, I was lucky enough to go to watch them in Athens and Paris.
I love attending international sporting fixtures. Apart from the Olympics, I have been to watch the world athletics titles in Edmonton and London, and some world cycling and gymnastics titles in Melbourne. In other years, I usually go to watch the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Phillip Island.
Also, since I started running as a candidate in elections, I have come to enjoy travel by train and bus all over New South Wales. The purpose of my travel has been to drop flyers in letterboxes ahead of elections. However, I have found it relaxing to go to various parts of the State, and let the landscapes wash over me. Much of the countryside is something to look at, with breathtaking views in many places.
